Hyundai has confirmed its new Ioniq 5 EV will make its UK public debut at the Goodwood FoS… by taking on the famous hillclimb
Hyundai will give its radical Ioniq 5 EV its public dynamic debut at the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed – by running it up the famous hillclimb for all four days of the sell-out event.
The Ioniq 5, which is on sale now from £36,995, will appear in the First Glance category, alongside other EVs as well as high-performance supercars and hypercars.
Thanks to 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds, it shouldn’t be embarrassed away from the startline, although the firm adds its silence will contrast with the roar of other performance and racing cars on show at Goodwood.
The Ioniq 5 will also be displayed in a static display, for those keen to get a closer look.
It will be shown in the Electric Avenue arena for pure electric cars, as Hyundai prepares to introduce its EV-exclusive brand to UK customers.
“The launch of Ioniq 5 is a hugely significant moment for Hyundai,” said Hyundai UK MD Ashley Andrew.
“It heralds a new era for clean mobility.
“Goodwood Festival of Speed will be one of the first opportunities that the UK public will have had to see our Ioniq 5 on the move and up close, so we’re thrilled to be able to share this landmark in our history with the many enthusiasts expected at the Festival."
The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from 8-11 July and JustGoEV will be there to bring you all the news of the latest EVs on show at the world-famous event.
