All new examples of the Skoda Enyaq iV SUV benefit from the ability to use DC fast chargers.
Skoda has made DC fast charging compatibility a standard feature for all new Enyaq iV models sold in the UK.
It means the all-electric SUV can offer shorter charging times, along with access to a wider array of charging devices.
Depending on the model chosen, ultra-fast DC chargers up to 125kW can be used by the latest Enyaq iV.
For those opting for the entry-level Enyaq iV 60, the update allows use of devices up to 120kW.
Choosing the Enyaq iV 80, with its larger battery pack, enables use of chargers up to 125kW in output.
Previously, both versions of the Enyaq iV were limited to just 50kW when charging.
The update means that, when using a 120kW device, charging an Enyaq iV 60 to 80 percent capacity now takes 35 minutes, instead of 55 minutes.
When charging the Enyaq iV 80 with a 125kW charger, time to 80 percent falls from one hour 10 minutes to just 38 minutes.
When fully charged, the Enyaq iV 60 offers an official range of up to 255 miles, with the Enyaq iV 80 pushing this to 336 miles. Opting for the range-topping Enyaq iV 80 SportLine sees total range fall slightly to 330 miles.
Although Skoda notes that many of the UK’s fast-charging devices are currently 50kW items, new high-output versions are being installed across the country.
Indeed, fast charger numbers are expanding by around 250 new devices each month, with the UK now home to more than 1,100 ultra-rapid (100 kW+) units.
