Prices for luxurious Mercedes EQS flagship EV announced

The largest saloon from the new Mercedes-EQ electric brand costs from £99,995.

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed UK pricing and specifications for its EQS electric saloon, with first deliveries expected by the end of this year.

A battery-powered alternative to the conventional S-Class (albeit a car that does now offer a PHEV variant), the upmarket EQS acts as a showcase for the Mercedes-EQ brand.

The EQS also debuts a brand new modular platform, created especially for executive and luxury electric saloons.

UK prices start at £99,999 for the EQS 450+ AMG Line. However, the specification will be anything but ‘entry-level’, with AMG body styling, 20-inch wheels and rear-wheel steering.

Inside, buyers will discover leather upholstery, a 12.3-inch digital dashboard and a 12.8-inch OLED multimedia screen with camera-based ‘augmented reality’ navigation.

Increasing the budget to £106,995 unlocks the AMG Line Premium. This offers 21-inch multi-spoke alloys, acoustic privacy glass, a 360-degree camera and a Burmester sound system.

For a further £7,000, buyers can move up to AMG Line Premium Plus. This adds a head-up display, remote parking capability and gesture control for the MBUX infotainment system.

As an alternative to the sportier AMG Line cars, buyers can also choose the more traditional EQS 450+ Luxury. Comfort seats, a heated steering wheel and ship-deck wood interior trim bring a classic feel for £106,995.

For a premium of £7,000, Exclusive Luxury trim adds multi-contour massage seats and Nappa leather upholstery.

With a 107.8kWh battery, the EQS 450+ returns an official range of up to 453 miles. A standard 200kW on-board charger will restore the battery from 10 to 80 percent charge in 31 minutes.

All EQS models come with a three-year ‘Mercedes me Charge’ subscription, including one year of free Ionity rapid charging.
