The feature-packed Kia EV6 will offer vegan leather as standard in a further boost to its green sustainability credentials
Kia has revealed full specs for its bold new EV6 ahead of pre-ordering closing and deliveries commencing in October 2021.
Prices start from £40,895 for the entry-level EV6 version – and the company has confirmed it will come as standard with sustainable vegan leather seats instead of the real thing.
Powered by a 226hp rear motor, the lead-in EV6 also has diamond-cut 19-inch alloys, ambient interior lighting, heated front seats and steering wheel, keyless entry and navigation-based smart cruise control.
However, the company actually expects the higher-grade GT-Line spec to be the most popular EV6 trim in the UK. It costs £43,895 in RWD guise and £47,395 in 321hp twin-motor AWD form.
GT-Line exterior and interior styling gives a sportier look, and the base car’s grey wheels become black. Inside, black suede is matched with light grey vegan leather, and electric seats have a tilt-back function for a so-called ‘NASA nap’ while charging.
Privacy glass, wireless smartphone charging and adaptive dual LED headlights are also included.
The current range-topper is the tech-packed EV6 GT-Line S, costing £48,395 in RWD and £51,895 in AWD form.
Included here are 20-inch alloys, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, remote smart park assist, augmented reality head-up display, 14-speaker Meridian sound system and plenty more.
Kia adds that the curved panoramic display, with dual 12.3-inch touchscreens, is standard on all EV6 – as is a 77.4kWh battery with ultra-fast 800V charging capability.
Using the very fastest chargers, this will deliver a charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
