Zap-Map finally now works on Apple CarPlay

Popular EV mapping service Zap-Map is now available for motorists to use via Apple CarPlay – and the company promises Android Auto is on the way

EV owner must-have app Zap-Map can now finally be used on the move through Apple CarPlay, with in-car support for Android Auto users also on the way.

The integration is part of the Zap-Map Premium subscription service, which costs £3.99 for an annual plan.

Via Apple CarPlay, users can locate suitable charge points, view live charge point status and access route plans while driving.

It will make using the app much more convenient for EV drivers seeking to charge up en route.

For those who don’t need Apple CarPlay functionality but are still interested in extra features, there’s also a new Zap-Map Plus subscription option, costing £2.49 a month.

This introduces enhanced search options to filter by new charge points, multiple locations and even user ratings.

Both Zap-Map Plus and Zap-Map Premium (which includes all the features built into Plus) are ad-free.

Melanie Shufflebotham, Zap-Map co-founder and COO said: “Electric vehicles are on the cusp of going mainstream and Zap-Map is on hand to show people the way.

“Our new service is built for everyone; from total beginners to experienced ‘EV heads’.

“We spent many months listening to our users and creating a unique platform which responds to what people really need when driving their EV and accessing the public charging networks.”

Zap-Map adds that its existing core app remains free to use – and itself has been enhanced with improved EV model selection, updated connector filters and an all-new route planner called ‘Autoroute’.
