The Vauxhall Combo-e seats up to seven people, making it one of the few pure electric people carriers on the market.
Vauxhall is targeting growing families with the launch of the new Combo-e Life, a roomy EV that can seat up to seven people.
Offered in two sizes, ‘Medium’ models can swallow either five or seven, while the long-wheelbase ‘XL’ comes with seven seats as standard.
Both versions have a vast boot: the five-seat Medium has 597 litres of luggage capacity, which grows to 850 litres in XL models… and folding the rear seats realises a massive 2,693 litres of space.
Even the front passenger seat folds down, helping load flat-pack furniture or stepladders.
All Combo-e have the same 136hp electric motor and 50kWh lithium ion battery. This gives a range of up to 174 miles.
The family-friendly Vauxhall EV also supports up to 100kW rapid charging, for an 80% charge in 30 minutes.
Vauxhall’s chosen a simple trim line-up, with just the single SE variant available.
Simple doesn’t mean basic though; all Combo-e feature 16-inch alloy wheels, dual sliding rear doors, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear parking sensors and panoramic rear-view camera.
Vauxhall Connect is standard too, allowing motorists to access vehicle charge status via their smartphone – useful for finding out charge progress when you’re charging up at home.
On sale now, Vauxhall Combo-e Life prices start from £31,610 on the road, including the Plug-in Car Grant.
