The Renault Megane E-Tech Electric is hitting public roads this summer as the firm completes its final pre-launch tests
Renault has released first teasers of the all-new, all-EV Renault Megane E-Tech Electric, which is due to be revealed later this year.
The new car is currently about to begin testing on public roads, with a fleet of 30 camouflaged pre-production models set to be driven by Renault engineers during the summer.
Renault first revealed the new car as a concept, the Renault Megane eVision show car, back in 2020.
After years of success with the supermini-sized Zoe, the new car is Renault’s first move into the larger pure EV family hatchback sector.
Renault says the new Megane E-Tech Electric will use a punchy 217hp motor, and a 60kWh battery pack.
This is expected to give it a driving range of around 280 miles.
The firm isn’t yet ready to reveal when production versions will go on sale – nor when the final design will be uncovered, but is currently proud of the tailor-made camouflage wrap.
Created by Renault Design, it uses lines and patters from the brand-new redesign of the iconic Renault logo – which also features on the nose of the car.
Expect more details of the new all-electric Megane to follow in coming months.
