Demand for the Polestar 2 EV is growing apace so the firm has opened a new test drive hub in Milton Keynes to help deliver thousands of test drives
Polestar has opened a new 8,000 sq ft test drive hub in Milton Keynes to help meet “huge demand” from motorists keen to get behind the wheel of the Polestar 2 EV.
The central location complements Polestar’s Spaces in London and Manchester.
Polestar is now predicting that the three sites, along with other events in 2021, will help deliver more than 28,000 test drives of its acclaimed EV.
There will be more than 7,000 test drives from the pop-up Milton Keynes site alone.
“We saw such huge demand in 2020 for test drives, it was clear we needed to deliver more opportunity for consumers to experience our fully-electric Polestar 2 first-hand,” said Jonathan Goodman, CEO of Polestar UK.
“But it had to be done in a high-quality way befitting the Polestar brand and be easy to book and access, and so Milton Keynes was an obvious choice.”
Polestar has assigned eight vehicles to the site purely for the purpose of delivering test drives.
Customers go out unaccompanied, as they fill in an online Covid compliance form giving all their details beforehand.
As for the other pop-up events, Polestar is planning more semi-permanent test drive locations over the summer: current locations include Daventry, Cambridge and Harrogate, with more to be announced in due course.
Further smaller-scale pop-up events will tour the country, many supported by EV charging firm Instavolt – which has already hosted a big event at its new flagship Gridserve Essex electric forecourt in Braintree.
