A host of updates for the Peugeot e-208 include a longer battery range, now extended to 225 miles.
Peugeot has announced a range of improvements for its all-electric e-208 supermini.
Central to the 2022 upgrades is an increase in the e-208’s potential range – now an official 225 miles.
Simplified trim levels have also been announced, helping to make the buying process easier for customers.
The latest e-208 retains the same combination of a 50kWh battery pack and a 100kW electric motor. However, its increased range comes from detailed technical improvements made for better efficiency.
A new interior humidity sensor has been added at the top of the windscreen, linked to the e-208’s heat pump (responsible for the climate-control system). The pump itself is a more efficient design, too.
Other changes include a new gear ratio, chosen to improve range at higher speeds, along with new A+ rated tyres.
All of these changes allow the e-208 to achieve 225 miles when fully charged, according to the industry-standard WLTP test.
In terms of the range structure, Peugeot has removed the entry-level Allure model from the e-208 range. This means spec choices begin with Active Premium, rising to Allure Premium, GT and GT Premium.
Upgrades for Active Premium and Allure Premium include the fitment of ‘Diamond Black’ door mirror covers, which Peugeot says give the car a ‘more distinctive, sportier look’.
All versions of the e-208 come with Peugeot’s i-Cockpit interior, featuring a 3.5-inch instrument panel and a 7.0-inch multimedia touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are included as standard.
Prices for the e-208 start from £28,225, inclusive of the government Plug-in Car Grant. Customers also benefit from a free six-month subscription to the BP Pulse charging network.
