The EQB is Mercedes-EQ’s third pure EV to be launched so far in 2021 – and we’re only in April! Prices will be announced later in the year
Mercedes-Benz is not letting up on its new EV model blitz with the third pure electric car of 2021 now revealed: meet the Mercedes-EQ EQB.
A mid-size seven-seat crossover SUV, the EQB has the standout feature of offering seven seats spread across three rows. The firm says adults up to 5ft 4 inches can use the two rearmost seats, and they’re also ready to take child seats.
The five rear seats can also be folded flat to create a vast load area of 1,710 litres. It’s all been made possible by the EQB being based on the long-wheelbase version of the Mercedes-Benz GLB.
The firm will offer it in EQB 300 and EQB 350 guise here in the UK. There’s no word on power or range yet, but some versions will boast almost 270hp, while the usable capacity of the batteries starts from 66.5 kWh.
“With the all new EQB we have created an iconic electric SUV that takes the heritage of our boxy off-road vehicles and transforms this into the future,” said Daimler Group design boss Gorden Wagener.
“We combine the significant boxy silhouette with futuristic elements such as the black-panel front to create the extraordinary look of the vehicle.”
Further details about Mercedes-EQ’s new EQB, including prices will follow closer to its launch later this year.
