Jaguar I-Pace Black special edition launched

The Jaguar I-Pace Black edition enhances the acclaimed EV’s design with more dynamism, distinctiveness and desirability

The new Jaguar I-Pace Black edition gives the acclaimed EV a moody new gloss black-themed look and adds in extra standard equipment over regular models.

Prices from £72,445, the I-Pace Black boasts a gloss black finish for the door mirror caps, grille and grille surround, side windows and even the rear badges.

Meaty 20-inch wheels are also finished in gloss black, while privacy glass and a full panoramic roof are standard.

Inside, the sports seats are finished in Ebony leather, and gloss black trim finishers are set off by an Ebony roofliner.

The I-Pace Black is also available in HSE grade, with even more luxurious features included: that’s priced from £76,695.

“The I-Pace’s dramatic, cab-forward profile, short overhangs and taut, muscular haunches give it a sense of drama which sets it apart from other SUVs,” said designer Julian Thomson.

“Creating the I-Pace Black gave us the opportunity to subtly enhance the design, making it look even more dynamic, distinctive and desirable.”

Jaguar’s latest Pivi Pro infotainment system is standard in the I-Pace Black. This has an embedded SIM and 4G data plan, and includes both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The system can connect two phones simultaneously, and a wireless smartphone charger is optional.

It also has EV navigation that shows nearby charging station availability, what type of connector they have, charging speeds and even charging cost.

On long trips, Pivi Pro can show predicted charge level at each waypoint.

All I-Pace Black come with a 90kW battery, giving up to 292 miles’ range. Ready to use 100kW DC chargers, 78 miles’ range can be added in 15 minutes, while the more commonplace 50kW chargers add 39 miles in 15 minutes.

To date, the Jaguar I-Pace has won 88 global automotive awards, including the 2019 World Car of the Year, World Car Design and World Green Car.
