Cupra launches new app aimed at future EV owners

Cupra launches a bespoke EV&me smartphone app to help drivers pick their next electric or plug-in hybrid car.

Cupra, Seat’s standalone performance brand, has released a new EV-specific smartphone app.

Called EV&me, the app is designed to demonstrate the benefits of driving an electric car.

At present, Cupra currently offers plug-in hybrid versions of the Leon and Formentor, but the Spanish marque will launch its first all-electric model in early 2022.

The EV&me app has been developed with Volkswagen Financial Services, and provides insight into the costs of electrified vehicle ownership.

Users can examine the costs of their current journeys, and view the estimated battery usage for the same trip with an electric car.

Estimated running costs for the same journey with an electric or hybrid model can be calculated. Cupra hopes this will demonstrate the savings possible from switching to an electrified car.

Expenditure can be broken down to weekly, monthly and annual levels, showing where savings can be made in both the short- and long-term.

Details of all of Cupra’s current electrified models are included, of course, along with where drivers can find their nearest EV charging point.

Cupra chose to release the app on World EV Day, a global event aimed at motivating more people to engage with e-mobility and sustainable transport.

Offered as a free download, the EV&me app is available for both Apple and Android smartphones.
