Citroen launches new e-Berlingo Electric MPV

Priced from £29,575, the e-Berlingo Electric is offered with a choice of two body lengths.

The new Citroen e-Berlingo Electric is now on sale in the UK, combining battery power with an ultra-spacious MPV body.

Boasting up to 4,000 litres of luggage space, and with seating for up to seven, the e-Berlingo is all about maximising practicality.

It becomes the latest part of Citroen’s electrification master plan, which aims to have an electrified version of every model on sale by 2025.

Kicking off the e-Berlingo Electric range is the five-seater ‘M’ model, offered in Feel and Flair XTR trims. It has boot space ranging from 775 litres to 3,500 litres – the latter with all the passenger seats down.

The larger ‘XL’ version is sold only in Feel specification. It features seven seats, and sees boot space swell to between 1,050 and 4,000 litres.

Some 26 storage compartments are found throughout the Berlingo’s interior, which combine to add an extra 167 litres of useable space.

Sliding rear doors are standard across the range, along with an eight-inch touchscreen, DAB radio and connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Both M and XL versions use the same 100 kW electric motor, combined with a 50 kWh lithium-ion battery. This allows for a potential WLTP range of 174 miles when fully charged.

A 7.4 kW onboard charger is standard, taking 7.5 hours for a full recharge. An optional 11kW on-board charger is also available, dropping this time to four hours 45 minutes.

Prices for the e-Berlingo begin at £29,575 for the Feel M model, including the Government’s Plug-in Car Grant. Opting for the larger Feel XL costs £34,020, with the Flair XTR M priced at £34,725.

All models feature a Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) tax rate of just one percent, with Citroen hoping to attract fleet buyers.
