British Motor Show visitors can try EVs before they buy

This summer’s British Motor Show will allow visitors to test-drive a range of EVs including models from Tesla, Mercedes-Benz and Renault

The 2021 British Motor Show is to allow visitors the chance to test-drive a range-of EVs so show-goers can ‘try before they buy’.

The revived event, which will be held at the Farnborough International Exhibition Centre from 19-22 August, is promising to focus on the latest and greatest EVs in the unique test drive sessions.

Already confirmed to bring along test-drive cars are Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Nissan and Mazda, with more brands expected to join in coming weeks.

Organisers are even ging to run them in a zero-emission way – recharging them with the help of AFC Energy’s off-grid hydrogen-fuelled EV recharging tech.

Andy Entwistle, CEO of the British Motor Show, said: “We know from our own research that there are currently thousands of car buyers planning to go electric for their next purchase and that there are even more who are considering it but are still sitting on the fence.”

The show will “help educate these customers and help them to decide whether an EV is right for them as we head towards 2030, while the dynamic test drive element will further help them decide, while at the same time giving yet another truly unique spin to The British Motor Show, which is the most interactive, action-packed and family-friendly car event in the calendar.”

More than 50,000 people are expected to attend the 2021 British Motor Show; tickets cost from £18.50 for adults, while a family ticket is available for £37.
